Dissolving Thought

When you’re thinking about the past or the future, you’re engaging in negative thinking. Part X wants this because it pulls you out of the present, away from where the higher forces exist, the forces that will move you forward in your life.

Dissolving Thought reconnects you a force in the present that’s so positive it dissolves away negative thoughts. This Tool uses the one part of your experience that’s always in the present – your senses – and rearranges them to create a sense of flow.

When to Use

Part X tries to make negative thinking a habit. Dissolving thought creates a counter-habit, turning your negative thoughts into a stimulus to put you into flow. Anytime you notice a negative thought that won’t go away, put this tool into action.

1. Blindness: Close your eyes. Stay alert – as if you’re looking for something in the blackness. Note how it feels to look but see nothing. Hold this feeling in your body as you open your eyes. Look around you as if you don’t recognize anything – as if it’s a void. Practice this until you can get into this state without closing your eyes first.

2. Melting: Next, with your eyes still open, imagine that your head is heating up and beginning to melt. At the same time, imagine that everything around you is melting too – as if someone put a match near a box of crayons and their colors ran together.

3. Embrace: Now, imagine this melting, fluid world running toward you. Imagine yourself going out to embrace it. When you meet this flood of color your body dissolves into it.

4. Oneness: In the final step, everything becomes pure light, moving everywhere, connecting everything. Don’t look at it from the outside – feel it from the inside. You’re at complete oneness with the light – there’s no more separate you. This is the deepest level of reality – everything is connected and everything is pure light.
